Meet Our Associate Pastor Candidate
After a season of prayer, conversation, and careful consideration, the elders of Crossroads Christian Church believe Michael Carrel possesses the biblical foundation, pastoral experience, leadership abilities, and servant’s heart needed to serve as Crossroads’ next Associate Pastor. We are pleased to introduce Michael and his family to the congregation and invite you to learn more about the man we believe God may be calling to serve alongside us in this next chapter of ministry.
GET TO KNOW MICHAEl and his family
Michael has been married to his wife, Katie, since 2013. The two met while attending Word of Life Bible Institute, and their relationship began a journey of ministry and service that has continued throughout their marriage. Together, Michael and Katie have three children, Samuel (11), Laurae (10, and Claire (6). They are also raising their 16-year-old nephew, Rogan, making family a very important part of their lives and ministry. Two of their children are autistic, an experience that has shaped their family and given them a unique perspective on caring for and serving others.
In 2014, Michael and Katie moved from Michigan to Vermont to attend Northeastern Baptist College. While there, Michael completed both his bachelor's and master’s degrees in biblical studies and theology. During his education, he served as pastor of North Pownal Church for nine years. The church eventually merged with another congregation in 2024.
Throughout his nine years as pastor, he served bi-vocationally as both a paramedic and firefighter. He has also started and operated two small businesses. In 2025, he completed his Masters in Business Administration, further developing his understanding of leadership, organizational management, and administration.
Michael is excited about this next chapter of ministry and the opportunity to serve alongside the people of Crossroads. He hopes to use the experiences and abilities God has given him to strengthen the ministries of the church, support Pastor Tim's leadership, and help Crossroads faithfully pursue what God has called it to do.
Above all, Michael desires to serve Christ, love people, and be a faithful servant to the church. He and Katie are looking forward to becoming part of the Crossroads family and getting to know the people they will have the privilege of serving.
