Activity – How RU Doing

Draw a line on a sheet of paper. Place a 1 on the left end of the line, a 10 on the right, and a 5 in the middle. As kids arrive, ask them to pencil in their initials on the line.

Say: If your day was so awful you wish you'd slept through it, place your initials by the 1. If it was a great day and you wish you could repeat, put your initials by the 10. Place your initials anywhere on the line that shows how you feel today.

Bible Time – Family Is Blessed – Hebrews 13:3, Acts 4:31-33, Verse Of The Day: Hebrews 13:3

Read: Acts 4:31-33

Story: This week we learned about God’s family and how the early church treated one another. The Bible teaches us how we are to treat our brothers and sisters in Jesus. We also get to learn true stories of real life people who learned about how to serve the Lord together. The early church had a wonderful and close fellowship. They were blessed as they helped each other. They prayed together and they shared with one another. No matter how different they were, they all loved Jesus and their hearts were one in Christ. They all were doing what pleased God and they were within His will. The early church was blessed with great power to witness to people who didn’t know Jesus and God protected them.

When we become members of God’s family we become part of a very large family. We have brothers and sisters all over this world. They all worship Jesus and sing His praises every week. Some of our brothers and sisters though aren’t able to worship freely like we get to. We are very blessed to live in our country. We can go to church, pray out loud and we don’t have to be afraid because we are Christians. But in some countries it is against the law to worship Jesus.

Can you think of some ways that we can help our brothers and sisters in this situation. That’s right! We can pray for them. We can ask the Lord to help them and to encourage them. Maybe we can even write them a letter. Let’s remember to pray for our family - the family who lives in our house with us and our family in Jesus all over the world.

Can all Christians worship Jesus without being afraid of going to jail?

What can we do to help our brothers and sisters who are suffering?

Pray
